Degenerative Spine - Causes & Symptoms

Degenerative Spine
The spine is a complex structure that naturally deteriorates as we age. Supporting our weight through our lifetime, the joints of the spine can deterioration at a faster rate than any other part of the body. Degenerative spinal conditions, including those involving discs, shouldn’t be taken lightly. Discs absorb shocks and prevent our vertebrae bones from grinding against each other. Any degeneration can compress and aggravate nerves causing pain and limiting mobility.

Some spinal conditions are not apparent until they cause other complications, delaying a proper diagnosis and treatment may lead to an increase in the severity of symptoms and the need for additional treatments.
